The founder of the brand, Nikita Kalmykov, drew inspiration from both early Soviet and the Victorian eras. In his creations, he used avant-garde fabrics such as lace sheets and valances created in the 1920s by the designer’s great-grandmother.
Contrary to what one would expect, romantic dresses were not what was made from the material. Rather, it was shirts and elements of male underwear that expressed the intimate nature of Kalmykov’s work. The designer, thus creates his own vision of a nostalgic past.
